Axiom specializes in providing outstaffing and recruitment services. Our partner, a leading cruise corporation, is seeking a Finance Manager for its Latin America operations.
This managerial role entails overseeing and managing the financial aspects of the brand in the Latin America region, with the aim of ensuring long-term profitable growth. The position reports directly to the International Finance Director and maintains a close connection with the AVP of the Latin America region. The responsibilities include specific oversight of all acquisition costs in Latin America, encompassing commissions, SG&A, etc., ensuring controlled costs of sale and overhead, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. The role involves proactive benchmarking against other markets, sister brands, and competitors to drive best practices and improvements in business results. The manager will also actively partner with commercial business operations and play a crucial role in developing the region’s strategies.
Responsibilities
– Role Portfolio: Guests 200k, NTR $170M, SG&A $14M; Commissions $18M.
Monthly Close Process:
– Oversee the monthly close for the company across the Latin America region, covering all aspects of commission and SG&A costs, reporting any issues to the International Finance Director.
– Report on sailed revenue performance and other key metrics on a monthly basis.
Planning & Forecasting:
– Manage the company’s annual operating plan process for the region for both sailed revenue and expenditure (operating & capital).
– Manage the quarterly and monthly forecast process for the region, ensuring a high level of forecast accuracy.
– Prepare presentations for the annual plan and quarterly forecasts in review meetings with senior management.
– Identify and quantify risks and opportunities in all forecasts/plans.
– Manage the capital acquisition request process to justify the benefits of capital expenditures and facilitate the approval process.
Routine Internal Reporting:
– Prepare monthly management reporting on ship & market performance.
– Facilitate the monthly pre-close variance analysis review.
– Provide ad hoc reports as requested.
– Establish proper communication protocols between Latin America Finance and corporate functions.
Channel and Commissions Structures:
– Evaluate the overall business model integrating all channels (Trade, CO, and Direct).
– Partner with the commercial/sales team to develop and review all commission proposals.
– Partner with the central International Marketing team to understand investment decisions and ROI on these investments.
– Provide regular analysis on commission expenditure/channel performance and profitability.
Contract & Vendor Selection:
– Partner with budget owners to review vendor selection proposals/bids.
– Oversee the Finance review of all contracts.
Capital Investment Projects:
– Assist business managers with the preparation of cost and benefits justification for capital investment projects.
– Analyze capital projects for reasonableness.
– Facilitate the approval process for capital projects in a timely manner.
– Conduct post-project reviews of capital investments to ensure forecast benefits have been achieved.
Management of Staff:
– Manage one member of staff based in our Mexico office.
– Develop the Latin America Finance team, addressing performance, development, and workload optimization.
Other:
– Assist International Finance Director, Brand Finance VP, and other senior management in ad hoc projects.
– Perform other duties as required.

– Responsible for monitoring & driving improvements in Latin America revenue – $170M.
– Responsible for control & optimization of Latin America investment – SG&A $14M; Commissions $18M.

– Latin America Sales & Commercial teams (based in Mexico & Miami).
– International Finance & Brand Finance teams.
– International Marketing.
– Brazil shared service team.
– Other shared service teams including Accounting, Legal, HR, etc.
– In-house Conduent team (who outsourced call center).
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in finance or related function.
– Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial environment in an analytical/FP&A role.
– Fluent in English.
– Prior management experience preferred.
– Travel industry knowledge/experience desirable.
